What is an AI interview?
An AI interview is a screening interview conducted by an AI system rather than a person. You answer spoken or typed questions, the system records and evaluates your responses, and a human reviews the result afterwards if you pass.
It is used because it scales. For most AI training roles, completing it is mandatory before anything else in your application happens.
How it runs
- You get a link and complete it in a browser, usually with camera and microphone on.
- The system asks about your experience, then follows up on your answers.
- Responses are recorded, transcribed and scored against a rubric.
- You typically get a result within days rather than weeks.
What it is actually assessing

Two common misconceptions
"A perfect accent is required." Clarity matters; accent generally does not. These systems are built to screen international candidates.
"It is a trick test." It is not. The questions are usually straightforward questions about your experience. Candidates fail on vagueness far more often than on difficulty.

Is an AI interview harder than a human interview?

Can I retake an AI interview?

Can I request a human interview instead of the AI interview?
No. Every platform we work with screens through an AI interview, and there is no human-interview alternative. It is the same process for everyone, which is precisely why international candidates get screened as quickly as local ones.
What happens if I pass the AI interview?
You are invited to onboarding. All instructions arrive by email, so watch your inbox and check spam and promotions folders — automated platform mail is filtered there routinely.
Do platforms use Discord or Slack communities?
Several do. After onboarding you may be invited into a Discord or Slack workspace, and in practice that is where most day-to-day questions get answered — how a rubric works, what a task expects, what to do when something is ambiguous.
How much human interaction is there in this work?
Very little, by design. You complete tasks from a queue on your own schedule, and support runs through the community channel rather than through meetings or calls. It suits people who prefer asynchronous work.
How often do the platforms pay?
Most pay weekly for approved work. Payment terms are set by each platform and stated in the contributor agreement, so confirm the schedule for the platform you join.
